چکیده

In previous studies, Sall et al. (1956) employing resting cells of Corynebacterium diphtheriae, and Mludd et al. (1956, 1958) employing resting cells of Mycobacteria, demonstrated that malate as substrate enhances the accumulation of polyphosphate (metaphosphate) in the form of metachromatic granules and glucose promotes the withdcrawal of polyphosphate. Similarly, AIudd et al. (1958), employing p32, showed that, in growing cultures of Mycobacterium thamnopheos, malate as substrate or azaserine as inhibitor favors the (leposition of polyphosphate, whereas glucose as substrate or dinitrophenol as inhibitor promotes the utilization of polyphosphate to form ribonucleic acid. Various applications of synchronized cell division to metabolic and cytological studies have recently been reviewed by Campbell (1957). In the present study, utilizing synchronously dividing cells of C. diphtheriae, a physiological deposition an(l utilization of polyphosphate has been (lemonstrated in relation to the cycle of cell division.

Experimental Study on a 1000W Dead-End H2/O2 PEM Fuel Cell Stack with Cascade Type for Improving Fuel Utilization

Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) with a dead-ended anode and cathode can obtain high hydrogen and oxygen utilization by a comparatively simple system. Nevertheless, the accumulation of the water in the anode and cathode channels might cause a local fuel starvation degrading the performance and durability of PEMFCs. In this study, a brand new design for a polymer electrolyte membrane...

Productivity Improvement through Line Balancing by Using Simulation Modeling

The typical problems facing garment manufacturers are long production lead time, bottlenecking, and low productivity. The most critical phase of garment manufacturing is the sewing phase, as it generally involves a number of operations or for the simple reason that it’s labor intensive. In assembly line balancing, allocation of jobs to machines is based on the objective of minimizing the workfl...

Initiation of the Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist Mode in the Neonatal Period in Iran

Abstract: The new neonatal ventilation methods have been developed along with utilization of new technological tools. This device is synchronized with the patient’s respiratory efforts. The ideal synchronized breath needs to be synchronous with initiation, size, and termination of the breath without delay in detecting of initial resiratory effort by device .The synchrony of respiration contribut...

Analysis of the time of utilization of proteins for the initiation and completion of division in synchronized Tetrahymena pyriformis.

We exposed division-synchronized Tetrahymena pyriformis to pulse treatments with the structural amino acid analogue p-fluorophenylalanine. We related the timing of the treatments to the delays in onset or completion of division, or both. The results enable us to distinguish between early and late phases in cell division in which the cells bring into action proteins which contribute to initiate ...
